It’s a dead end.
Where nobody will hear you scream.
For those in acute need of trouble
When it absolutely, positively has to be trapped right away.
If it’s not an emergency, keep your trap shut.
AKA the elevator.
Cool, a vertical trap door…reminds me of a regular door.
避難 is emergency, はしご is ladder. These ladders are usually in a floor hatch (trapdoor), so this actually makes sense in a way. But very awkward, which makes it Engrish!
Kind of takes the fun out of a burning building.
