This must be some weird dialect bad translation! One day, many years ago here in the US, I heard the head of engineering (Chinese born) yell at everyone in his all-Chinese department, “We’re all Chinese, and we can’t understand each other!!”

But man, is that hysterical.I can’t make out which dialect it was mistranslated from!!

@PD: This is not the first time we’ve seen that telegraph-pole-shaped character translated this way on this site. It’s pretty obvious they meant “dry” goods.
