It is fascinating how a Custard Tart varies in so many countries.

I believe it to be a traditional Portuguese dish. I find the Spanish ones very different to ours, and the Japanese pastry to be very different. My little Mestizo lady kept trying to put rice in it, which was weird, but Filipinos eat rice with everything. I like mine very cold which prompted, un chef pâtissier. to call me a barbarian.
