Kan Fuk Butt Wont
They have “benevolent ass’ns” in Chinatowns up and down the West Coast. There are large, prominent pagoda-ish “benevolent association” buildings in Sacramento, in Portland, in Los Angeles, and probably elsewhere. Not sure what one does in a benevolent ass’n, but I suppose it’s better than a malevolent ass’n.

It appears to be nothing but a Chinese-American club. Boy, does that ruin the fun in not knowing.
Now I’m looking for the malevolent ass’n. I presume I won’t find it in Chinatown; I’ll have to go all the way to 9th and Hennepin! (Super-obscure musical reference)
Oh wait a minute…I know what the malevolent ass’n is! It’s the Kan Fuk Family Ass’n!
