If that free drink was only 500 yen, ok, but 5000? that’s rediculous! I wouldn’t pay 5000 yen for an expensive drink!

That’s preposterous. At 5000 yen a drink I couldn’t possibly afford to drink enough to get a hangover.

Probably “free drink” = “nomi houdai” = “all you can drink”. Pretty common for Japanese bars, and $60 is not outrageous
