Looks like one of those people robots
Well it could be that one
You think that’s a vending machine.
Now Gaijin this is a vending machine.
– No, Madam. It’s on the right, behind the ear!
That explains it.
Sorry webmaster.
This one’s only for beverages.
(Thus says the Japanese sign maker.)
A vending machine in Nagoya,
Dispensed food which would truly annoy yer,
The rice was all dry,
And the Sushi smelt high,
That was positioned in the Meitetsu Hotel in the foyer.
They call this “Street Vendor” in the old days!
Only you can exact change.
@Pete 0409. Shiite!!
I would have been kicking the ferk out that one forever, trying to get something to eat. Although if it dispensed a good Scotch, I probably would have forgiven it.
@Yu No Hoo 0422
Only change is constant. (sayeth the great Ho Tung)
– “I want that one !”
@ Marum 4:24 am
I bet Ho Tung never had a hole in his pocket.
No snack for you!
Just fyi, beverage machines in Japan serve drinks both hot & cold.
I have no clue why this idea hasn’t caught on in other countries.
Want a can o’ hot coffee or tea without waiting in line at Starsux?
Just drop a coin in and wham, cuppa joe in moments.
A winner is you, vending machine boy.
An ATM is the other one. Please do not put food in its slot.
Is the Force strong with this one?
@Pete 0452. They do have such machines in Brissie nowadays. However I have never been game enough to use one. As you know, Cockroaches are endemic to tropical/subtropical climes. Therefore, I imagine the little buggers would be attracted like ants to a picnic. I can visualize my coffee being strained through half a million cockroaches, who have decided to immolate themselves in the infernal machine. Despite my redoubtable technical skills, such devices seem, “to have it in for me” so as to speak.. The other night at the club, I decided to sally forth to sample a Cup of Java,… Read more »
EDIT : to from whence I had come. (Oh for an edit button)
I used to be a vending machine like this one, them I took an arrow to the head.
Vend or do not vend. There is no jam.
And now for something completely different – a man with a vending machine in his ear.
@Marum 5:57,
AKA: Mount Saint Keurig
All vending machine items are flesh.
The vending mechanism is strong with this one.
@Marum 4:22,
I have seen vending machines on the streets of Japan which sell whiskey. And beer. No I’m not kidding.*
*Although this was in the late 1980’s.
No idea if this is still done nowadays.
@Pete | 3:02 pm: Vending machine whiskey? “Aged in Okinawa, 12 days”.
That’s not a vending machine. It’s the Master’s TARDIS, disguised as one with it’s chameleon circuit.
@EffEff above.
Buenos tardis hombre.
actually: Buenas tardes hombre.= Good afternoon mate.
Or if yoiu prefer. Bonus nachos.
@DnT 6:21 pm,
Uhhh….why Okinawa?
Stumped me on this one.
BTW Okinawa has a potent liquor of its own made from sugarcane.
It’s called Awamori.
It’s GOOOOOOD…..
@Pete | 8:09 am: You’re being too literal, mate! It’s a pun on “aged in oak”. 😉
An oaken awa? 🙂
An Awa is a Japanese barrel, equal to a Firkin.
So if someone asks: “How’s ya Firkin?”
You can reply either: “One tenth of a Hogshead, or half a Kilderkin.”
Aha. “Oak in Awa”.
Got it.
(Background sound of palm loudly smacking forehead…)
I quote Homer Simpson: “D’OH!”
@Marum 5:57, It took me a while to wonder why you were worried about cockroaches. Then I realized you were talking about a machine where the coffee is actually filtered there in front of you. (At least I THINK that’s what you meant.) No, Japanese hot/cold drink vending machines have the coffee or tea pre-canned. If roaches get into the beverage, that has to happen at the factory, not inside the machine. Those cans are sealed up tight until you the paying consumer is ready to open it and drink. And the Japanese are pretty persnickety about consumer product quality.… Read more »
