Hard water stains in your tub? Mildew on your shower curtain? Unsightly dingy grout on your bath tiles? Restore your bath’s natural luster with Bath Tyrant. It’s brutal and merciless on dirt and grime. Also try new Toilet Despot.

If you think the bath tyrant is bad, you should see the toilet dictator.

@Seventy2rd o clock and @SF: two of the funniest captions I have seen on Engrish. Thanks for the laugh.

Why would such a small town need a tyrant? Much less one requiring activation?

@lollerskate: If it’s the Microsoft Bath Tyrant, you have 30 days to activate it until it stops working.

The two kanji literally say Bath + Supreme ruler; champion; supremacy. So it’s YOKU+ HA, which is still a made up word. More Engrish generated from dictionaries. They could have been correct yet still amusing with “Supreme Bath” but then, “Bath Tyrant” is priceless.

The Arab world could, to some excess, drive its tyrants out of their countries. And where did they go to? To Japanese bathrooms, where they have an absolute “power” on.

… whatever you do, don’t turn him on.

… actually, it’s Simplified Chinese and it says yùbà, which refers to a heat lamp, though I haven’t the slightest idea why they use that second character.

For those who don’t know, ‘bath tyrant’ is a bathroom heating device installed on the celling, consisting of 4 large lightbulbs.

Yu-ba is a bathroom heater / light. Apparently “master” is translated into “tyrant”.

Stewart J Harvie

Master translates to tyrant, a metaphor for true life. Perhaps the said tyrant would consider emerging from my plug hole and do battle with the trouser serpant?
