The Da Ily Code. A Chinese-Viking conspiration.
I’ll have Mongolian on the roof if you don’t mind.
It certsinly lost something in the translation from the original Latin.
EDIT: certainly
I like my Viking medium rare.
Shut up! Bloody Vikings! You can’t have egg bacon spam and sausage without the Vikings.
I’ll have the specialty store with no mayo.
How much is the Pillage-A-Village Pizza Sandwich?
Is it really free?
No Bear Shirt
No Service
You can only move your chopsticks to the sound of the drumbeats.
I’m all out of Pleasant Time.
Do you take cash or Visa?
How about Less-Grumpy-Than-Normal time?
During my meal at this restaurant, I could hear the chefs chanting “SPAM!SPAM!SPAM!”.
Wow I didn’t know you could copy and paste from babelfish to a store window. Don’t I look the fool now….
Pleasant ime, very nice
Pizza Sandwiches? That’s just two peaces of pizza put together. I guess they cater to cops.
“Would you try them in a specialty store? Would you try them with a Viking?”
“I will not try them in a specialty store, I with not try them with a Viking. I do not like them, Eat in Garden, I do not like da ily dish!”
When did this trend of putting hodgepodge English feel-good statements in white letters on windows start? It is something I really enjoy about living in Japan, I admit somewhat to my shame. 🙂
Thor is not pleased…
I’ll try anything as long as it’s freely.
i’m more intrigued about their “pizza sandwiches” than their plain viking.
Since Hiroshima is the symbol of the barbarism of ‘foreign devils’, the reference to the Vikings is no wonder because they are ‘foreign devils’ in the purest form. And maybe they even discovered Japan some centuries before the rest of the Europeans but didn’t boast about it. This window may be an important historical source! Our textbooks need rewriting…
With every day the Vikings squat in the garden, they grow stronger.
Does this mean Brett Farve will be serving the sausage?
Eat in garden. Drink in living room.
After all those daily specials, who has room for a Viking?
The problem is, the Vikings only want to eat Spam…
SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM….
When you eat in a garden, you can truly ALL GET ALONG
An orse is an orse, one course, of course. Served in a boat en flambé
I’m assuming that the English translation is referring to a cafeteria-style restaurant. I discovered on my first day in Japan that Viking (バイキング) is used to refer to self-serve cafeterias and buffets. Still haven’t figured out why…Japan’s much too orderly for pillaging!
If you’d ever heard a Japanese person attempt to say “smorgasbord,” you’d understand why, over time, they adopted the term “viking.” It took me a long time to figure out, but it kind of makes sense. Sorry to spoil the fun . . .
Would you like Viking takeaway?
pizza sandwiches and an indoor garden with no plant life, life finally makes sense
Well its nice off them to acknowledge us scandinavians!
I’ll take Viking K. Douglas if he’s still serving. If not, his son Michael may serve me, at a lower price, of course.
Looking for something a little more downscale where I can have a few drinks and be mean to everyone.
Viking pizza sandwiches: the Japanese take on Mongolian barbecue.
Pizza sandwiches?! Oh, I am so there~!
