If I do it on purpose it is not an accident. Right?

She rush’d for the toilet in dire morning need,
To get to the room before that she peed,
But she slipped on the tiles and was tripp’d by the mat,
And injured her arm, her leg, her hand, and the cat.

Another “typical” Chingrish, and the reason why I think Mandarin should introduce spaces in writing.

It’s 小心 地 滑 (be careful, the floor is slippery), but they translated it as if it were 小心地 滑 (carefully slip). The double meaning of 地 (“ground”, or, in this case, “floor” – and “-ly”) didn’t help…

Still, my favourite mistranslation of 小心地滑 I’ve seen in one hotel in Xi’an: just character-by-character, “small heart earth slip”.

A careless slip may leave skid marks.

And be careful to bump your head on the wall on the way down.

Like I said before, I don’t think we have a lot to fear from these people…SO many dialects…a friend worked in a US IT dept. that was staffed solely by Chinese…one day the head of IT exploded, “We can’t understand each other, and we’re all Chinese!!
