To be honest I wish the USA had stayed a British domain, and had only accepted educated immigrants instead of the many uneducated ones. Our country is in the toilet because neither our society nor our government takes education seriously. Looking back at history, it was religious fanatics who kicked the British out of our land. Most of the great intellectuals of early America were executed by religious mobs during the revolution. First BP buys out Amoco. Then BBC America comes on cable. Then we start seeing roundabouts and buildings called “centres” (over here it’s “center“). Next you’ll see the ACL (American Cricket League) angling for coverage on ESPN, and Wimpy’s chains serving beans and toast with tea. The British reconquista is progressing nicely.
