This is NOT Engrish per se. The head instructor’s name is 위 which is pronounced identically with the English word “we.” Koreans are horrible at romanizations, not to mention inconsistent. Most surnames are not rewritten according to any rule other than “spell it so English speakers say it right” hence you get “Kim” as opposed to “Gim” (which looks like gym). But then it goes horribly awry when they think that “oun” and “oung” are pronounced always like the “u” in “up” just because of oddball words like “young.” Hence, you get people who spell their names “Hyoun.” And then… Read more »
